Working at Tokopedia (Bekerja di Tokopedia)

It's been a long time since I didn't post anything here. Sorry, my lovely blog, I have neglected you, but solely I really lost my passion in writing. Today, I'll try to write again after many exciting stories were passed but left without written here. In short, I have graduated from college and then I was accepted to work at Tokopedia. Why I choose Tokopedia? I will tell you deeply in this post.

Btw, I applied tokopedia as product admin (gadget, mobile phone, and computer) via jobstreet. There were lots of Tokopedia vacancies that I remembered, some of them closely related to electrical and telecommunication engineerings such as network engineer, IT staff, database admin and more. Literally, I can fill those vacancies because I'm qualified as an engineer. But I wanna be myself, I am more interested in writing and reading about gadget instead of engineering. When I read the list of responsibilities, I felt I've found an appropriate job. Then a week later, I was interviewed at tokopedia office by Fitria Umami. She told I'm qualified and asked me to continue the interview with Erwin Andreas from content division and Pramesti Tyas from HR specialist. Everything went quickly and well, only two days I was accepted to work there, awesome !

The first day, I was so nervous how I should have dressed decently, even though I knew how tokopedia peoples dressed. Instead, I decided to wear semi-formal outfit. Obviously, They wear a very casual outfit, even only a t-shirt and jeans. It sounds like the company gives total freedom to his members. On that day, there were around twenty-five peoples who were accepted and who started to work. The whole day just filled by orientation about tokopedia. We were told all about tokopedia and every Division presented their division.

Next day, I really blended together into work life. I started to enjoy to be the New Nakama (Tokopedia Family). Not only learning but also trying to socialize with other employees. As time goes by I knew specifically about what my responsibilities are. As a product admin, especially for smartphone, tablet, computer and everything related, I should always update the catalog. This is how the catalog looks so simple but beneficial, here and here. For the time being, on the beginning of work, my responsibilities are just writing the description of the product without copying from another website, putting the specification on the table, monitoring the price, and placing the category into the right place because sometimes sellers select the wrong category and catalog. However it just a little of responsibilities, maybe next time I will write the product review of gadget, smartphone and computer such as tabloidpulsa, teknoup, jalantikus, and much more I will do.

Assuming that my job is underestimated and not essential to a number of peoples, yet I feel I don't deceive myself. I really get carried away when writing, I am really interested in a gadget, it is proved by how many videos of handphone and tablet review that I have on my laptop, how many times I spend my time a lot to watch and download the review on the internet. Lastly, don't judge people's future based on their current job, life can revolve.
